5G-MOBIX trial site leaders have been organising visits between their sites to coordinate activities. In August 2018, doctoral candidate Chao Zhu, from Aalto Universityvisited the Institute of Automation Shandong Academy, China while Prof. Yanjun Shi, from Dalian University of Technology, visited Aalto University, Finland in return in May 2019.
A similar approach has been taken with the Korean trial site whose leaders also organised visits to their sites to coordinate activities. In these visits, the European and Asian trial sites of 5G-MOBIX presented their updated use cases and 5G deployment plans and progresses. In summary, the Finnish trial site will experiment with multi-PLMN and multi-ROC (remote operations centre) configurations for remote driving CCAM applications; in addition, the Korean trial site will utilize mmWave for remote driving and QoS (quality of service). Both trial sites also exchanged their experiences and learnings from recent trials on mmWave for automotive.
