5G-MOBIX prepares for ITS World Congress 2019 in Singapore
The next ITS World Congress will take place in Singapore, from 21 to 25 October with the theme "Smart Mobility, Empowering Cities". ERTICO-ITS Europe, 5G-MOBIX coordinator and one of the three organising bodies of the World Congress, will have a stand in the exhibition area where ITS state of the art projects will be showcased. 5G-MOBIX will be one of them, alongside 5GCARMEN and 5GCroCo. The three projects reflect the efforts of EU’s 5G Action Plan to ensure Europe’s role as technology leader and on the path towards commercial deployment of 5G. Apart from the stand, 5G-MOBIX is planning other activities in Singapore. A Special Interest Session SIS55 has been accepted and will discuss the Prospects of a 5G Reference Framework for CCAM. This SIS will focus onthe necessary actions required by the communication and road infrastructures and the automotive industry to meet the disruptive demands of the envisioned CCAM technologies.
The session will take place on Thursday, 24 October 2019 at 14:00 - 15:30 in Room 330.
5G-MOBIX is also organising a symposium on Wednesday, 23 October under the name 5G and IoT Boosting the Digital Transformation of the Automotive Sector. In this symposium, experts from Europe, Asia and the Americas will present perspectives on how 5G and IoT can bridge the gap to fully automated and on-demand mobility. The discussion will focus on technological trends and research and innovation strategies; new business models for automated mobility, particularly data sharing along a large value chain involving diverse stakeholders supplying solutions; and policy and regulation approaches across the three regions.
