The 26th ITS World Congress in Singapore was an excellent opportunity to show the other regions what Europe has been doing when it comes to 5G for CCAM. The three EU projects 5G-MOBIX, 5G CARMEN and 5GCroCo are an excellent example of putting the 5G Action Plan from the European Union in action.

The week of 21 to 25 October was indeed full of groundbreaking connectivity ideas and activities with the highlights on a Special Interest Session SIS55 Prospects of a 5G Reference Framework for CCAM which discussed how 5G can boost CCAM with cellular V2X and network slicing. A second important event was the "5G and IoT Boosting the Digital Transformation of the Automotive Sector" symposium where experts from Europe, Asia and the Americas presented perspectives on how 5G and IoT can bridge the gap to fully automated and on-demand mobility.
