The ESPOO urban trial site is located in Aalto University campus at Otaniemi, district of Espoo, in Finland. Otaniemi is home of the largest and principal research and high-tech companies in Finland, and of the vibrant Nordic startup scenery. The ESPOO trial site is therefore strategically located to demonstrate the 5G-MOBIX concept to such national force and to drive automated mobility in the Nordics.
Moreover, the unique local climate will allow the evaluation of CCAM under Nordic-like prolonged and harsh winter seasons. Espoo urban trial site will primarily address the multi-PLMN environment use cases given that an automated vehicle has to always be connected on two networks by Finnish law.
